How my paintings are born

The ability to express insights and emotions through art is a gift I am grateful for every day. I paint because I want to make visible and share the deep sense of gratitude I feel for life. Through my art, I wish to bring light, beauty, playfulness, and joy into the world, and to remind us of the small and simple things that make life extraordinary.

Nature and forests are my source of inspiration. The way light transforms nature, with its countless nuances across different seasons and times of day, is an endless source of wonder and fascination to me. My experiences in nature and the insights I discover there evolve into inner landscapes in my paintings, where the external and internal worlds meet.

Through my art, I want to bring inspiration into the spaces where we live our everyday lives. To me, art is more than a beautiful image. At its best, a work of art makes us pause, awakens our thoughts and imagination, and opens up new perspectives on our own lives. I feel that through my work I am able to give form to thoughts and emotions we encounter at different stages of life, particularly when searching for our own direction. My paintings have inspired, encouraged, comforted, and empowered people as they follow their own paths.

I have come to think of every painting I create as, in a way, a commissioned work, born to meet a particular need and to carry a message meant for someone. The most moving moment in my work is seeing a painting and its owner find one another. In that moment, I feel that together we are touching something universal.
