Tämä maalaus voisi olla juhlavuoteni virallinen maalaus, sillä se kuvastaa tätä hetkeä. Se syntyi muistuttamaan, kuinka tärkeää on pysähtyä juhlistamaan saavutuksia, mutta samalla katsoa ilolla ja luottamuksella tulevaan. Tuo tunne on usein läsnä vuoden vaihtuessa. Pöytä on katettu. Lasit odottavat täyttämistään. Kynttilöiden loiste saa ympäristön hehkumaan. Punaiset korkkarit on riisuttu tanssin jälkeen ja samalla ne odottavat seuraavaa askelta. Ilmassa on odotuksen kihelmöintiä.

This painting could be considered the official painting of my anniversary year, as it captures this very moment. It was created to remind us how important it is to pause and celebrate our achievements, while at the same time looking toward the future with joy and trust.
That feeling is often present at the turn of the year. The table is set. The glasses are waiting to be filled. The glow of the candles makes the room shimmer. The red high heels have been taken off after the dance, yet they are also waiting for the next step. There is a sense of anticipation in the air.

This work is also on view in my exhibition at the Dance Pavilion of Meilahti Manor, opening on March 25.
